On June 17, the National Post wrote an article that highlighted Facebook support amongst each of the four Conservative Leadership candidates. Over the last month, since the debates it has been crunch time for all of the candidates, to prove to Canadians that they deserve our support, so I figured it would be a good idea to see how the candidates Facebook social media accounts have progressed over the last month. To be fair to all candidates, we must remember that Peter Mackay and Erin O’Toole have been in the political game for quite some time and had a good portion of their followers before this leadership race even began, while both Derek Sloan and Leslyn Lewis had just opened their profiles at the beginning of the race. Here are today’s Facebook numbers and changes since June 17th.
Candidate June 17 July 20th New Likes
Derek Sloan 7866 30,468 22,602
Leslyn Lewis 18,561 30,119 11,558
Erin O’Toole 60,000 66,361 6361
Peter Mackay 43,500 44,678 1178
We took some time to ask some Sloan supporters why they thought Sloan’s support has gone threw the roof, and continues to exponentially grow by the day, and here are some of the replies:
“Derek is the ONLY candidate who is addressing Canada’s relationship with the UN. We are watching our politicians quickly becoming enforcement agents for UN global agendas and it will not matter which party wins if we do not get Canada out of UN agreements like the Paris Agreement”
“Sloan speaks the truth and isn’t afraid to face the tough issues that actually address the root, systematic issues that are destroying Canada, while the other candidates run from these issues.”
“We know that the WHO is corrupt and for some reason, Sloan is the only person that seems to care enough about Canada to quit funding this UN organization”
“Sloan and Lewis seem like the only ones with some real Conservative values, but Sloan is by far the candidate who is speaking out on the tough issues”
“Getting out of UN agreements is by far the most important issue in Canada at the moment if we are going to stay a sovereign country. Sloan is the only person with the guts and backbone to campaign on these issues. If the other candidates won’t stand up while they are campaigning, how can I expect them to suddenly change course if they become the leader”
“We are out of time in Canada to be playing games with voting in the nicest candidate, or the one who kisses the most babies and has the best photos. Canada voted in the candidate with the best hair in the last two elections and he has promised to make Canada the first post national state. I am sick of pathetic candidates that won’t talk about the real issues. I don’t want my country to become a post national state of the UN. I want Canada to remain a free and sovereign country. Derek Sloan is the ONLY candidate that even acknowledges this and who is fighting against it.”
“Derek Sloan is by far the best candidate to come along in my lifetime. Finally, we have someone who will fight for Canada”
It is very clear that Sloan’s message of freedom of speech, thought, and belief, along with his hardcore stance against staying in UN agreements that continue to hand over Canadian sovereignty, is quickly winning over and resonating with Conservative voters. When speaking to Sloan supporters it is clear that Sloan is doing much more then trying to win a political seat, he is leading a movement in Canada to fight to keep our nation free in every which way possible, including the shift towards global government, under the United Nations.
With Sloan gaining double the new Facebook following over the past month, then the next closest competitor, during the final stretch before voters receive their ballots, while the other two candidates have stayed pretty stagnant, Derek Sloan must be given the credit he is due. He has not only put himself smack dab in the middle of this race, he has ran out to lead the pack in many areas.
I’m very impressed by Derek Sloan.
When I look at Justin Trudeau, Jagmeet Singh and potential Conservative leader, Peter Mackay, I only get depressed and fear for the future of Canada.
Derek has a lot of sensibles ideas and seems to have no hidden agendas.
His only agenda seems to be to do what’s best for Canada.
Excellent article. Derek Sloan has my vote.
A great candidate–Derek Sloan–hope and pray the majority of CPC members will see this and elect Derek as the new CPC leader.
Love the values and Sloan. My concern is bringing CANADA together….to win not only SOCIAL Conservatives…All Kinds of CPC FAMILY need to feel welcomed taken care of which includes LGBTQ and MUSLIMS that adopted Canada… Also honour appreciation , for that reason DR..LEWIS is my #1 choice..
Sloan is the 2nd best choice for Canada. Leslyn Lewis will bring about not only the prosperity and integrity of Canada but her sovereignty making Canada the 2nd strongest superpower after Israel. We need her for bringing about the elimination of prejudice poverty and the mental deterioration of many of Canada’s population. She is THE BEST choice for Canada
Sloan all the way. He has the values that Conservatives want and support. Peter and Erin are afraid to rock the boat for fear of losing votes. I was an Otoole supporter but he wont answer important questions. He had Jim Karhalious thrown from the race I assume because he was afraid of losing potenti l supporters to him . It was a dirty move on a fellow TRUE CONSERVATIVE. Ford has done the same to Jim’s wife. I am disappointed with Ford. Ford and Otoole have been playing in the same sandbox for a long time. . That was it for me. Otoole turned me off and Ford may be kissing a bit too much Liberal ass.
